Our Mission: To connect natural fiber producers in Colorado's Mountains & Plains to artisans, spinners, weavers, dyers, and creators.
Our Vision: To create a self-sustaining fibershed within Colorado by utilizing local fiber, local dye, and local labor.
Abby Powell of SuperStitchin Zine is in Rajasthan, India with Saheli Women, a social enterprise economically empowering rural women in Rajasthan through slow fashion practices. Read more about Saheli Women and how their practices align with Fibershed's in her latest article.
We are very excited to share that we are deep in planning mode of the 2026 F2F Fair!
It is our hope that this fair serves as a showcase for the amazing raw materials, textiles, and fashion pieces our community can create, and as a opportunity to connect with other producers and designer within in the M&P Fibershed.
All are welcome to attend, so invite your sister, your brother, your mother, your cousin, your friend, and anyone who wants to learn more about regional fibers and supporting a local textile economy.
More info to come, but this year we will be introducing:
A textile fashion show to demonstrate the skill and creativity of our designers and artists
Demonstrations in weaving and natural dying
and more!
Check out the book that inspired us all, Fibershed, available at your local library and on Bookshop.org!
"A call to action to everyone involved in textiles - from handcrafted to haute coutre - Fibershed advocates for a focuse on 'the source of the raw material, the transparency with which it is converted into clothing, and the connectivity among all parts, from soil to skin and back to soil.' Burgess educates us about political ecology of clothing and challenges us ot think, spend, and dress with our healthy and the good of the planet in mind."
Bookshop.org supports independent bookstores by providing them with a platform to sell books online. When you purchase a book through Bookshop.org, a majority of the revenue goes towards local bookstores. We're excited to partner with Bookshop.org and support Colorado bookstores.
